A.R. Kane emerged from 1980s London with a bold mission to reshape what guitar music could be. Alex Ayuli and Rudy Tambala fused dub’s deep space, shoegaze haze, soulful vocals, and psychedelic distortion into something enchanting and new. They called it “dream-pop,” a term that later defined an entire genre. Their landmark debut 69 drifted between beauty and chaos, while follow-up releases pushed into dance and experimental realms with fearless curiosity. As Black British innovators in a scene that rarely made room for them, they challenged assumptions about who could define the future of indie music. The legacy of* A.R. Kane* echoes in shoegaze, trip-hop, post-rock, and beyond. Their songs feel like dreams with a pulse: intimate, weightless, and still ahead of their time.

Their performance at Week-End Fest will be the first in Germany since 1989. Rudy Tambala will be joined by Steven Benjamin on stage.
