Joyce Moreno, born in 1948, is a true master of the música popular brasileira (MPB) movement next to artsts such as Gal Costa or Caetano Veloso. Her talent and voice speaks for itself as the great Antonio Carlos Jobim said “To me, you are one of the greatest singers of all time.”

In 1977, she recorded the album “Natureza” with the legendary producer and arranger Claus Ogerman, which was considered lost until last year, beore her label “Far Out Recordsing” made it available for the first time ever. Together with Cologne-based arranger Jorik Bergman and her ensemble, this long lost treasure was brought back to life with a stunnng performance at Week-End fest XII on November 3rd 2023. After working with Bergman twicefor Week-End fest, in 2021, interpreting the music of Julius Eastman and in 2022 bringing Charles Mingus’ breathtaking album “The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady” to our stage for the first time ever, the cooperation between Bergman and Moreno turned out to be another unique experience for the festival.
